I'm looking to buy a new water heater, but I'm facing some challenges. The new models are generally taller or have a larger diameter compared to my current one. The height is especially problematic since my existing pipes and electrical wiring won't reach. I think I can handle extending the CPVC piping myself, but I'm confused about the electrical part. Can I just use wire nuts to extend the wires, or do I need to set up a junction box or a quick disconnect? Should I tackle this myself, or should I hire a professional electrician and plumber?

Have you thought about going tankless? You'd never run out of hot water! Just keep in mind that if you have hard water, the maintenance can be a hassle. Plus, I’m not sure if there are electric options for tankless that would work for an entire house.
Consider getting a heat pump water heater! They’re much more energy-efficient and can work with regular 120-volt outlets. The downside is they are a bit pricier than the traditional 240-volt models, but the savings on energy can really add up over time.
