Coffee Tree or Olive Tree: Which is Better for Indoor Growth?

I'm considering getting either a coffee tree or an olive tree for my home. I live in the Midwest and intend to keep the tree indoors all the time. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on growing either type. What do you think would thrive better in my environment?

I'd recommend going for the coffee tree! They're really fun to grow and I've had success with mine indoors. Just be aware that they need a bit of humidity to prevent the leaves from getting crispy. Olive trees, on the other hand, can be quite challenging to keep alive indoors since they require a lot of light, which can get expensive with grow bulbs. Overall, coffee seems like a better fit for your situation!

Both are solid options! Coffee trees have gorgeous leaves and smell fantastic when they bloom, but they do take time to grow and produce beans. Olive trees can adapt indoors too, but make sure you have enough sunlight or consider using a good grow light. If you're committed to growing a tree indoors, check your lighting options. Can't wait to see which one you end up choosing!

Definitely take the light situation into account! I've heard olive trees can be a challenge without enough sunlight.

I actually have a big olive tree that I've managed to keep alive indoors for a year now, and it’s doing great! It's such a beautiful tree, but you really have to be on top of its light and watering needs. Just a heads up that every indoor plant has its quirks, so be prepared for some trial and error!
