Coleman vs Ashley Furniture: Is It Worth Paying More for Quality?

I'm shopping for a new sofa set and I've got two options lined up. Coleman Furniture offers a great price at $2,665, plus they include a $149 Guardian 5-Year Protection Plan and free white glove delivery. On the other hand, Ashley can match the furniture price, but adds $269.99 for delivery and their 5-Year Protection Plan costs $569.99. That makes Ashley's total almost $700 more. Coleman seems reliable with their delivery and insurance, but I'm questioning whether the extra cash for Ashley is justified due to their brand recognition, local support, and smoother delivery service. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Would you shell out an additional $700 for Ashley's plan and service or go with Coleman to save some cash?

Honestly, go for the cheapest option and skip the warranty. Most of these companies are just drop shipping the same mass-produced stuff. If you think the couch might fail in five years, take that $700 you’d spend on warranties and save it for higher quality furniture in the future!

Ashley is not what it used to be. And if it’s not solid wood, don’t buy it! Stay away from MDF and particle board. Trust me, it’s not just about the name!

I had an Ashley sleeper couch, and honestly, it was a nightmare. The "leather" started peeling off in patches within a year. It was the worst quality I've ever encountered. Now I'm super happy with my Costco couch!

I had a similar experience with Ashley. I had to cover everything just to make it look decent, and that peeling mess was everywhere!

I bought my couch from Ashley, and it broke within a year. Even with their protection plan, they were a hassle to deal with when I tried to get it replaced. Not worth the trouble at all!
