Hey everyone! I'm looking to hear from anyone who's owned or currently owns a Jet or Laguna bandsaw. What are your thoughts on them? I'm particularly interested in any must-have accessories from your experience as well. With some sales happening at Woodcraft right now, I'm eyeing two specific models: the Jet 14" Steel Frame Bandsaw and the Laguna 14-12 Bandsaw. My main use will be for resawing 8/4 lumber and making various cuts with a thinner kerf blade instead of relying on my table saw. I've noticed that a lot of YouTubers seem to favor Laguna products, but I'm curious if anyone has alternative opinions. Thanks!

In my view, if you're comparing the two, both are pretty solid choices. While there won't be a significant difference in cut quality or performance between them, going with a band saw gives you more versatility and a larger cutting capacity compared to a table saw. I personally prefer ceramic guides since they tend to be more durable and reliable than bearings. If you can swing a little extra cash, I’d suggest checking out the Jet 14bx; the added horsepower and safety brake make it a worthwhile investment.
Thank you! I appreciate the insight. I'll definitely check out the 14bx.
