I'm curious about the key differences between the DCF860 and DCF870 impact drivers aside from the hydraulic noise level. Did both models hit the market at the same time? I remember the DCF860 had some amazing deals a few months back, but I haven't seen any for the DCF870 yet.

I own both impact drivers, and they feel pretty distinct! The 870 took a bit of time for me to adjust to because it kind of overtorques things a bit—you really have to get used to that throbbing sensation. On the flip side, the 860 delivers the traditional impact sound feedback and really gets the job done on tough materials. Honestly, I reach for the 870 when I want something lighter and quieter, but for raw power, the 860 is hard to beat. It all comes down to what you're using it for!

So they're basically two different beasts, right? One's all about raw power while the other is more about finesse? I can definitely see myself needing both if I pitch it right to the wife!
