Concerned About Light Leaks in My New Front Door—Is It a Problem?

Hey everyone! I recently had my front door replaced, but I'm noticing that light is coming through the door, and I'm starting to worry that this could let bugs in or cause my AC to work harder since air might be escaping. I've also noticed light leaking at the bottom of the door. Is this something serious I should be worried about? I'm definitely not a professional, so any advice would be appreciated!

Make sure the threshold is the right fit! Some come with adjustment screws to help with the seal against the door. If it was a pre-hung door, that could affect how it seals too. You might want to look up some tutorials on adjustments just to be safe!

I didn’t replace the frame, just the door itself, so I’m not sure about the adjustments. I’ll do some digging!

If the door is an outswing, it sounds like you might be missing a seal. It’s possible the door was installed incorrectly, especially if it was supposed to be an inswing. You should definitely look into that!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll check that out and see if it needs adjusting.

It seems like there's an issue with how the door fits. Ideally, the door should close snugly over the threshold. If there's light coming in, it’s likely bugs, air, and even water could get through too. Definitely a concern!

Yeah, I’d recommend checking the door's seal and threshold. If it’s off, it might need some adjustment.
