Confused About My Solar Panel Setup and Output

I'm setting up my solar system with nine solar panels rated at 220W and 40.0V, configured in three sets of three. I'm trying to figure out the total output value, but my charge controller shows that I'm pulling in 1400W. Is that normal?

It looks like you might be mixing up your calculations with voltage and wattage. Since you have three sets of three panels, your theoretical maximum output should be 660W (3 panels x 220W). However, the 1400W you're seeing could be due to the charge controller reading voltage fluctuations or possibly some kind of measurement error. It's definitely worth checking the connections and setup again.

Just a thought: sometimes, charge controllers can show higher readings under certain conditions, like with good sunlight or reflective surfaces. But 1400W from 660W is quite a jump. Double-check your panel ratings and see if you could mistakenly be counting extra panels somehow. If it persists, reaching out to customer support for your charge controller might help!
