I'm trying to figure out the wiring for my RV setup and I'm a bit lost. I currently have a 50a exterior plug going into a surge guard, then to a transfer switch. I also have an Onan 5500 generator linked to that transfer switch, which then feeds power to the house panel. Now, I'm installing a Victron Multiplus II 12/3000/120-50 2x120 and I'm unsure how to connect it properly. My initial thought was to connect the surge guard (from the exterior plug) to the AC Input on the Multiplus, and then the AC Output from the Multiplus to the transfer switch. But I'm worried that might be wrong since this setup is typical for systems without a hardwired generator. I'd really appreciate any guidance on this tricky wiring! I've already mounted and wired all the other components like panels and batteries, but I need to nail down this part.

It sounds like you should put the Multiplus between the house panel and the transfer switch. That way, it can manage the power coming from both your shore connection and the generator. Connect the AC Input of the Multiplus to the output of the transfer switch, and then you'd wire one of the AC Outputs from the Multiplus to your house panel.

So just to clarify, you're saying I should connect the transfer switch output directly to the Multiplus's AC Input, and leave both AC Output ports of the Multiplus unconnected for now? What happens to the house panel in this setup?
