Hey everyone, I have a question about connecting solar panels. If I connect two sets of four panels, each rated at 22 volts, in series, do I need to use two separate 100V charge controllers, or can I connect both sets to a single controller? I'm trying to avoid any mishaps, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should be able to parallel the two sets if your charge controller can handle the combined current from both strings. If you're starting with two series strings of 4 panels each, you'll have an output of 88V at double the current for the two strings. So, just ensure your controller supports that current capacity!
Got it! Just to clarify, each panel outputs 5.5 amps, so with 22 in series, that should be fine. My charge controller is rated at 100/50. Is connecting 4 panels with 22Voc too close to that 100V limit? Should I consider going to a 3s/3p setup instead?
