I recently picked up a DeWalt DWS779 double bevel sliding compound miter saw on sale for $260, and while it works great, I'm running out of space in my garage. I often find myself using my table saw for most cuts, and the sliding feature is only necessary for specific projects like cutting floor treads. Since I still need room to park my car, I'm contemplating selling the miter saw and getting a smaller model instead. However, I've noticed that smaller miter saws are selling for nearly the same price. What would you do in my situation?

If I were you, I'd hold onto the saw and consider building a flip-top stand for it. That way, you can mount another tool on the other side, like a thicknesser, which can save you some serious space. Honestly, a smaller miter saw won't really free up much room in comparison to what you already have. It’s worth it to keep the capability!
I’m thinking about that too! But I'm not so sure about how to securely mount a bigger saw, haha. I've got a planer still in the box waiting for its space too. Maybe it’s time for an overall bench redesign with more tops and storage!
