I've been dealing with a stubborn sump pump that's running non-stop, and I've had my basement flood twice since we moved into this house, which is only 2 years old. The area can really get swampy since we're on land that used to be farmland. My current sump pump is .3 HP, and I'm wondering if I should get a more powerful pump or invest in a battery backup system to prevent future flooding.

I’d recommend going for both an upgraded pump and a battery backup. You'll also want to think about diverting water away from your house as a preventative measure!
Definitely look into a stronger pump. I went with a Zoeller 1/2 HP and paired it with an Aquanot backup. It saved me from a lot of headaches. An alarm system is also super helpful to catch any pump failures early on.
Make sure you get a good quality pump and maybe keep your old one as a backup. You never know when the primary pump will let you down!
