Could I Have Inhaled Too Much Epoxy?

Hey everyone, I recently painted my bathroom using Epodex (epoxy) paint, and I didn't know it could be dangerous. I had the window only partially open and mostly painted without a mask because my goggles kept fogging up. I even washed the tools with my bare hands. Now, a few days later, I went swimming and found myself really out of breath, which also happened during running. After some research, I realized how risky this stuff can be. Will my lungs recover from this? Has anyone else painted their home using epoxy without a mask? What was your experience?

Honestly, it's probably a good idea to talk to a doctor about this. You might want to also reach out to the manufacturer for guidance on what risks you faced when painting. Just to be safe!

You should definitely check the safety data sheet (SDS) for the epoxy you used. Just Google the product name followed by 'SDS' to find out what chemicals are in it and the potential risks. It's super important to share that info with your doctor or nurse.

The fumes from epoxy are generally low unless you're spraying it. If you used a roller, you might have been okay, but if the product has solvents, then breathing in any of that could definitely be a concern. You should investigate the shortness of breath, even if it might be from something else. It’s worth getting checked out, for sure!

I didn't spray it, I used a roller to apply it on the tiles. I did wear gloves, but I washed everything with my bare hands afterward.
