Creating a Potty Area for My Dog in a Cement Backyard

Hey everyone! I'm struggling a bit with my backyard situation. It's entirely covered in cement, and that's not great for my dog's potty needs. Right now, I have fake grass down, but I want to make a designated potty area that helps minimize odors. Since I'm renting, I can't dig up the concrete. I was thinking of marking off a section and covering it with something like pea gravel, mulch, or bark. Any suggestions for what would work best?

You could also just buy a sandbox! It’s super easy, especially if you don’t have the tools to build something. You can line it and fill it just like others mentioned. Check out local stores for some options!

I can't believe I didn't think of that! Such a smart idea!

One option is to build a wooden box, say about 4 feet by 12 inches high. Line it with plastic to hold soil, then fill it with dirt and put some grass on top. That could create a nice potty spot for your dog!

Thanks for the suggestion! I really like this idea.

Just a heads up though, grass can be tricky since dog's pee can kill it. You might want to consider clover; it's hardier and doesn't need cutting.
