Custom Window Screens Too Small – Any Fixes?

Hey everyone! I've been living in my house for about 5 years now, and I've got a problem with my custom window screens. Last year, I measured the windows and ordered custom screens because about half of them were missing. Unfortunately, the screens finally arrived after months of waiting, but they're a bit too small. They cover the windows fine, but the tensioners barely reach the channels, making them loose and prone to popping out. I think they just needed an extra 1/4 inch to fit perfectly. I'm hoping to find a way to make them fit better without having to reorder. I'm open to a makeshift solution, but I'd prefer something that doesn't look terrible. Any ideas? Oh, and I noticed that tensioners that extend further might help, but I'm having trouble finding those online.

Have you thought about using a strip of wood and some glue? Just remember, the channel is pretty narrow which might make it tricky to fit anything in there, and if you fill it with wood, the screen may not stay put very well.

That's true! If the channel is narrow, it might just complicate things instead of helping.

They actually make thin PVC boards that you can cut into strips. You could try fitting a strip into the groove to help cover that gap and secure the screen.

It might help if you share some photos of the screens and the setup. I bet if you do that, folks here will have some good suggestions for you!
