Dealing with a Possible Drain Field Problem After Yard Re-Grading

Hey everyone! I just had my yard re-graded after replacing my leach field a couple of years back. The crew used a 2800 lb machine as advised by the company that did the leach field, since they mentioned that only a maximum of 3000 lbs should be driven on it. However, after some heavy rain over the past two weeks, I've noticed a sewage smell coming from certain parts of my yard. Even though we had a few dry days, the smell hasn't gone away and it's raining again. Given how stressful the leach field replacement was for me, I'm wondering what I should do next? Should I wait for longer dry weather, have the leach field checked with a camera, or what? I'm concerned about potential damage, and unfortunately, I don't have the crew's insurance. Any advice would be appreciated!

Definitely seems like a good idea to scope out the leach field. You don’t want to end up fixing it without knowing for sure if it’s compromised. Just a heads up for the future though; it’s usually better to check everything before making any replacements in the first place.

I did get it inspected before replacing the leach field completely.
