Hey everyone, I've noticed a lot of condensation building up inside my inverter recently. My setup includes batteries, an MPPT controller, and the inverter, all of which are in my detached garage. The shortest cable run to bring the inverter inside my house would be about 30 feet. I'm considering moving both the inverter and batteries into my house, but I'm not too keen on having them in my bedroom. An idea I had was to build a waterproof and fireproof cabinet just outside my bedroom with some ventilation through the wall to keep the temperature regulated. I'm a bit stuck on what my best option is here. Any suggestions?

One option is to create a utility closet in your garage and use a humidistat-controlled dehumidifier to manage moisture in that space. If you don’t want the closet, just dehumidifying the garage itself could help a lot!

That sounds effective, but don’t forget that dehumidifiers can be power-hungry. A good one for a garage might pull 500W or more. I’m really curious about that condensation issue you mentioned. Generally, inverters heat up during operation enough to avoid condensation unless they get really cold. Have you checked if moisture is entering through cables or conduits?
