Dealing with High Humidity in My New Basement

Hey everyone! I recently moved into a new home that was completed in June 2025, and I've noticed that the humidity level in my basement is sitting around 66%. I'm a bit concerned because I've read that high humidity can lead to mold growth. Should I contact the construction company about this issue, considering they are a major builder and I have some warranties in place? Also, what can I do to resolve the humidity problem?

Definitely reach out to the construction company! They might have specific steps they need to follow for warranty issues, and it's worth looking into. You're in a suburb of New York, which can be humid, so addressing it sooner rather than later is key!

It might be a good idea to get your home inspected, especially since you're noticing high humidity levels. In the meantime, using a dehumidifier could help manage the moisture. Just keep an eye on it while you sort things out with the builder!
