Dealing with Mold on My Ceiling: How Can I Fix This?

Hey everyone! I've recently discovered some mold on my ceiling, and I think it might be related to how my window gets really condensation-heavy during the colder months. I'm not sure if I can handle this issue on my own or if it requires professional help. Has anyone faced something similar? I'd really appreciate any tips on cleaning the mold, stopping it from returning, and tackling the condensation problem. Thanks a ton!

It sounds like you're definitely dealing with a mold issue. The first step is to confirm where the water is coming from. If it's not from your window, check for leaks in pipes above. Mold needs moisture to grow, so look for any dampness that could be originating from elsewhere, like your roof. For cleaning, consider removing the affected drywall and replacing it. After that's done, spray the area with hydrogen peroxide to kill any remaining spores. Best of luck!

You’ve got a situation on your hands! Definitely check for leaks from the roof, windows, or even the floor. It's important to remove any rugs or soft furnishings that might be harboring mold. I recommend running a dehumidifier and using a hygrometer to keep an eye on moisture levels—they should ideally be under 50%. If the problem persists, you might need to replace the sheetrock and use a mold fogger to really tackle it.
