Dewalt Pressure Washer Dilemma: Time for an Upgrade?

I've been using my Dewalt DWPW2100 pressure washer for about three years, and it seems to be on its last legs. It's out of warranty, and finding replacement parts is proving nearly impossible. I've noticed on Dewalt's site that many customers aren't thrilled with this model, giving it only 1.9 stars. Now, I'm considering options for a new pressure washer within the same price range. Are there any electric models that you all would recommend, whether from Dewalt or other brands? I don't have any gas tools and would prefer to stick with electric.

I saw that Dewalt has introduced a battery-operated version with a brushless motor. It could potentially be more reliable! I’m not sure what's going on with your current washer though; it might have an internal leak that's tripping your GFCI.

Before you replace your pressure washer, check your GFCI outlet. Old outlets can trip easily. This happened to me and I lost a full freezer of beef! I switched it out, and I’ve had no issues since. I don’t own an electric washer myself, but I’ve heard great things about the Greenworks models. If you’re a Costco member, they often have those for sale and their return policy is pretty generous. Just a tip: I have a Dewalt gas model, and it’s mostly a Honda engine paired with a Cat pump—nothing Dewalt specific in there!

I replaced the inline GFCI on the pressure washer but it’s still tripping. I’ve tried different outlets too with no luck. I think water’s getting into places it shouldn’t be. I’m thinking of taking it apart to see if I can diagnose the issue, but I’ve heard those parts are tough to source. That’s another reason Costco is useful; might be time to invest in a new setup!

What are you planning to use the pressure washer for?

Just general home stuff like cleaning the car, gutters, and my patio.
