Dewalt vs. Other Brands for Lawn Equipment: What’s the Best Choice?

I'm diving into electric lawn care tools and currently have a couple of Dewalt 20V batteries and chargers from my drill and driver. Should I stick with the Dewalt platform for my mower, blower, and trimmer, or explore brands like Greenworks or Ryobi that might offer better performance without the hassle of different battery systems?

I used to rely on Dewalt's 20V batteries, but I've switched to Ego's 56V systems for my outdoor tools. Honestly, I find their products fantastic, especially the weed trimmers! I still keep my Dewalt drills, but for lawn equipment, Ego just seems to outperform them. Plus, I still use my Stihl chainsaw for cutting work, as it’s unbeatable!

Totally agree! The Ego tools have been a game changer for me as well. Their trimmers are just so powerful and easy to use!

I had a similar situation after moving from gas tools to battery-powered ones. I started with Ryobi, but now I own multiple platforms. When switching systems, you'll end up juggling batteries, which can be super annoying! If you're starting fresh, try to stick to one brand to avoid battery chaos. I now face the frustration of mismatched tools and batteries, which I wish I could have avoided. It's worth thinking about how long you plan to stick with your initial battery system before adding more gear.

You know, I believe it all comes down to usage. I have a bunch of Dewalt gear, including various blowers and a leaf blower. But let me tell you, for heavy-duty work, gas still reigns supreme in my rural area with 10.5 acres. If you're just mowing a small yard, these tools might work great for you. But for commercial use or larger spaces? I’d reconsider. That said, Dewalt's trimmer is actually quite impressive for light work!

I hear you! My gas tools still get the job done better than any electric I’ve tried so far. But if it’s just for home use, the electric stuff can work well!
