Dewalt Won’t Honor My Warranty for a DCB612 Battery – What Are My Options?

I purchased a DCB612 battery about 35 months ago from Amazon, and it's now stopped charging and won't power my leaf blower. After doing some research, it seems like it might have a bad cell. I reached out to Dewalt's warranty department, but they told me it doesn't qualify for warranty coverage, even though I provided my receipt, and it's still under three years old. What can I do against Dewalt for what feels like false advertising regarding their warranty policy? I haven't heard back about escalating the issue.

It can be tough dealing with warranty claims, especially when you didn't buy from an authorized dealer; that could void your warranty right away. Dewalt's warranty is a bit tricky—they advertise a limited 3-year warranty, but it really only covers manufacturing defects. From what I've seen working in a Dewalt service center, it’s really hard to get anything covered under that? They expect you to prove it's a manufacturing issue, which is nearly impossible. You're essentially left with just a 1-year warranty unless you bought from an authorized dealer.

Just a heads up, the three-year warranty only applies if you purchased from an authorized dealer. If your Amazon purchase was from a third-party seller, that could be the issue. Make sure to check your receipt because that would make a difference.

I will have to check with MaxTools... I never considered that being unauthorized would affect the warranty!
