I'm new to taking care of succulents, and I had a little mishap recently. My puppy accidentally knocked over some water on my succulent pots, and I thought it wasn't a big deal—just a little splash. I drained the excess water, but now two days later, my succulent looks brown and shriveled. Am I too late to save it? Is there any hope or advice to bring it back?

Have you considered the sun exposure? Wet leaves in direct sunlight can cause sunburn, which might lead to browning. If you have a way to move it to a spot that gets less intense sun, that could help too. Southern California can be pretty intense with that heat!
It sounds like your succulent might be experiencing some stress from the sudden change in water. It's important to let the soil dry out completely after watering, and if it's been sitting in water, that could lead to root rot. Try placing it in a bright spot but out of direct sunlight for a bit, and avoid watering until the soil is really dry. Keep an eye on it, and don’t lose hope just yet!
Exactly! Also, if the leaves are mushy, that's a sign of trouble, but if they're just shriveled up, there might still be a chance. Just be patient!

I’m not sure about sunburn since it was during the day when it got soaked, but I can try moving it. Thanks for the tip!
