Did I Just Waste $5 on Flower Seeds?

I recently bought 10 different flower seeds from a company called "American Seed" for just 50 cents each, but now I'm worried I may have fallen for a scam. I've read some reviews suggesting these seeds might mostly produce weeds. I'm concerned about potentially introducing invasive species into my yard. On the flip side, I've also heard some of these seeds might just be ordinary flower seeds. I'm okay with flowers that aren't what I expected; I just want to fill my yard with blooms. Should I give them a try or just accept my $5 loss?

I think marigolds are a good bet. They grow pretty fast and have that sweet honey-like scent, especially the yellow ones. Just toss the seeds, water them, and they should sprout easily. Good luck with your flower bed!

Honestly, you might want to just throw them away. Discount seeds can often lead to invasive weeds, which can be a hassle. Instead, consider focusing on native plants—they're easier to maintain and usually thrive without a lot of fuss. If you're looking for good native seed mixes, Prairie Moon has some solid options!

I'd recommend tossing them out. A lot of those discount seeds aren't what they seem; they might be dead or just weeds in disguise. It might be a loss, but better safe than sorry. You can always check local communities for seed swaps or get some extras from neighbors or community gardens instead!

Thanks for the tip! I might check if there are any local gardeners willing to share.
