Did I mess up my new porcelain floors by cleaning them too soon?

I just had porcelain tiles installed in my bedroom, and after the grout was applied the next day, I had the floor mopped with a cleaner just a day later. I didn't realize that I should have waited 48-72 hours before cleaning. Should I be worried about mold growing in the floors because of this? We used custom poly blend Versabond grout for the installation.

It's generally best to wait a few days before cleaning a newly installed floor like yours. Using a mild soap and water mix is usually safe. However, it sounds like you're using a product from a cleaning service, which may not be ideal. Just keep an eye on it, and if you notice any discoloration or strange smells, you might want to have it checked out.

Don't panic! As long as you used a gentle cleaner, the risk of mold growth is low, but waiting would have been better, for sure. Just stick to mild cleaners moving forward, and your tiles should be fine. If you're really worried, just check for any dampness in the grout.
