I recently changed the wax ring on my toilet, but I think I messed up. A quarter of the wax ring is covering the flange; should I just let it be or redo it?

If it's a little off, it's probably okay, but I wouldn’t risk it. Might as well fix it now rather than deal with leaks later!
It’s best to redo it. The wax ring needs to sit flush with the flange to prevent leaks and bad odors. You don’t want to take any chances here; it’s definitely better to be safe than sorry.
Just to clarify, what exactly do you mean by a quarter of the wax ring covering the flange? The wax ring should actually cover the flange entirely!
