A couple of months ago, I contacted an appliance repair service because my dishwasher was leaking. After waiting a few days for a response that never came, I decided to fix it myself. I was out of town for two months, and in my absence, a technician showed up at my house because my roommate let them in. I had no idea they were coming since they never reached out to me, so when they ran a 'test cycle' on the already repaired dishwasher, I was completely in the dark. Now, I'm getting charges of $150 in the mail and it's overdue because I haven't been back home. Do I just pay this bill or can I challenge it since no agreement was made for them to come out?

I’d advise you to contact the repair service and explain that there was no agreement for them to come to your house. Since you never confirmed the appointment and they just showed up, you might have a case to dispute the charge.
Honestly, I’d just pay it to avoid any headaches. Learn from this, and next time, cancel any appointments you might have if you change plans. Sometimes these kinds of lessons aren't worth the trouble.
