Hey folks! I'm on a mission to create my own spot welder that can handle 1mm aluminum sheets. I get that welding aluminum can be trickier than working with steel because of its high conductivity and the pesky oxide layer that forms. So, I'm reaching out for some help with a few things:
1. What type of power supply or transformer would work best?
2. Any tips on what kind of electrodes or tips are ideal for aluminum?
3. How about timing and pressure—any advice on preventing burn-through?
4. If anyone's built a similar setup, I'd love to hear your experiences and maybe see some diagrams.

Honestly, I'd suggest just buying a spot welder unless you're up for quite the project. It might save you a lot of hassle in the long run!
