I've got a bit of a hot take, and I hope you all don't hate me for it... I actually prefer using aftermarket batteries for my DeWalt tools! Sure, they might not last as long as the original DeWalt ones and I do find myself charging them more often, but the cost savings are significant. Has anyone else had a similar experience and is brave enough to admit it?

There was a study by Project Farm that compared brand name and off-brand batteries. They found that off-brand ones often had worse thermal performance and shorter lifecycles, meaning they just don’t last as long. So generally, you get what you pay for with batteries.
I usually wait for sales to get my batteries. The only aftermarket one I have is a 12v 6.0, and honestly, it’s been working great for me. But I mostly use 20v or 60v tools. So maybe it works differently depending on what you have.
I wouldn't risk it! I’d rather spend a bit more on quality batteries than deal with potential fire hazards in my house. Safety first, you know?!
