Do any plants actually benefit from misting?

I'm really interested in giving my plants a light misting now and then for some extra care, but it seems like none of mine seem to appreciate it. I've come across a cool plant mister that I'd love to use. Do any plants genuinely enjoy being misted, or is it just a waste of time?

If you're looking for something to do, air plants are your best bet because they actually thrive on misting! Orchids are also okay with it, especially if you mist their aerial roots, just avoid spraying the crown and let the pot dry out before watering again. It really can be a fun way to interact with your plants!

Honestly, most plants don't actually benefit from misting. Air plants, however, can tolerate it since they get their moisture that way. Just remember, it needs to be a fine mist that dries quickly to avoid fungal issues. Some folks suggest misting the soil instead, which works for plants that prefer consistently moist soil. But for most others, it's probably not worth the effort.

Pro tip: if you do mist your plants, use distilled water. And make sure to sanitize your mister with alcohol first – you’d be surprised how much gunk comes from regular tap water!
