I'm curious about the first gen M12 3/8th stubby drill. I've heard that the second generation really benefits from the high output (HO) batteries. Does the first gen need them too, or can I get decent performance with the 3.0 or 4.0 batteries?

You definitely want to use the HO batteries with both the first and second gen stubby drills for optimal performance. They just work so much better!

Is it worth upgrading to the second gen? I was thinking about selling my first gen on Facebook Marketplace for around $80. Would I get better results with the upgrade?
