Do I Need a Permit for a Concrete Slab Around My HVAC?

I'm looking to pour a concrete slab around my HVAC system to keep plants from growing too close. Do I need a permit for this, or is it something I can do without any red tape?

Permit requirements really depend on where you live, so you'll need to check your local zoning laws. In many cases, things like pouring a small slab around an HVAC might not require a permit, especially if it’s just a couple of feet and doesn’t change any structures.

Yeah, I've done it in my area without a permit. Just make sure to keep it away from property lines.

True, but double-checking with local guidelines can save hassle later!

Generally, if it’s not structural and won’t affect drainage or the property line, you probably don’t need a permit. But it varies by location, so it's best to check.

Exactly! I think if you’re just putting in a small slab, most places won't mind.

I agree! Just make sure it circles the unit properly.
