Do I Need a Plumbing License for Bathroom Piping in Indiana?

I'm planning to replace all the outflow piping in my bathrooms and throughout my house. One contractor I spoke with has a general contractor license but not a plumbing one. I believe that in Indiana, you need a plumbing license to avoid liability for any issues that may arise later. Can someone confirm whether that's accurate or shed some light on this?

It varies based on local regulations, so it’s best to check with your building authority to see what’s allowed. They’ll provide you with definitive answers on whether a contractor can take on plumbing without the specific license.

Generally, a licensed general contractor can hire a licensed plumber for plumbing jobs. It's pretty standard practice. However, if this guy is doing the plumbing himself, it might not fully align with legal requirements. Always check to see if he’s licensed or if he can contract the job out to someone who is.
