I'm having issues with my garage door opener randomly tripping the GFCI outlet. I'm planning to replace the GFCI receptacle to see if that fixes the problem. My question is, do I need a specific type of GFCI for garage door openers, like one that's high harmonic rated? Any advice would be appreciated!

You actually don't need a special GFCI for a garage door opener per se. However, the National Electrical Code (NEC) requires that garage outlets be GFCI protected, so you're on the right track by replacing it.
Did this tripping issue just start happening, or has it been going on for a while? Sometimes older openers can have issues that cause false tripping, and it may not be just the GFCI that's to blame.
