Do I Need Deodorant or Antiperspirant for Working Out?

I've been hitting the gym pretty hard lately and I've noticed I really sweat a lot. I just bought a Rexona antiperspirant but haven't tried it yet. Is it a good option, or would I be better off just using deodorant instead?

I say skip the antiperspirant if you want to avoid yellow stains in your clothes! Deodorant is enough to control smells, plus it helps with itchiness that comes from antiperspirants. Old Spice has great scents too if you're looking for some options.

Antiperspirants stop your sweat by blocking your pores, which can sometimes be a health concern due to the aluminum they contain. But if sweat bothers you, it's worth considering. Deodorants mainly just cover up the smell. Personally, I stick to deodorant and accept a bit of sweat—it’s just part of the workout vibe!

That’s smart! I’ve been using only deodorant for a while and so far, so good.

Honestly, it's natural to sweat when you're working out! If you’re using deodorant, that’s great. Some folks prefer to mix things up—like using antiperspirant at night and deodorant beforehand. That combo can really help control both sweat and odor.

I do the same! Antiperspirant at night works wonders.

You know, the best thing you can do is shower after your workout and use whatever you prefer! If you want to avoid the stink, definitely wash up afterward no matter what you used.

True! Just make sure to wait until you cool down a bit before showering.

I think a combination of both might be effective. Antiperspirants definitely reduce moisture while deodorants tackle odor! Just know that if you sweat, it’s all good—just clean up afterwards and you'll be fine!

Totally agree! You can never go wrong with a good clean-up after sweating it out.
