Do I Need to Fuse Each Battery in My 12V Battery Bank?

Hey everyone! I'm setting up a battery bank with four 100ah LiFePO4 batteries connected in parallel to some bus bars. I'm questioning whether I need to fuse each positive cable running from all four batteries. I plan to use a centralized blade fuse panel to fuse the DC loads and also fuse the lines to my inverter, but I'm not sure about the best approach for the batteries themselves. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I have a simpler setup with just one battery, and I used a terminal fuse instead of an ANL fuse. It was easier to install for me. Anyone have thoughts on that?

TIL that's a thing.

Check out the Victron Lynx busbar! It's a solid option that has four attachment points and each one can be individually fused, making it convenient for setups like yours. Definitely worth considering!

It's a good idea to fuse each positive wire from your batteries. Even if it's rare, a short circuit could happen—like dropping a wrench across the terminals—and if any battery isn't fused, it could lead to a much bigger problem. Fusing helps prevent that by protecting your batteries from dumping energy into each other in a short circuit situation.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll plan to fuse each positive line on its way to the positive bus bar.
