I'm in the process of installing an exhaust fan in my bathroom, but there's no attic space above it. I noticed insulation in the ceiling and I'm concerned about moisture getting into it if it builds up on the outside of the duct. Should I take out the insulation, or should I just be insulating the duct itself?

You actually don't need to remove the insulation, but it's crucial to insulate the duct to prevent condensation. That way, you can keep moisture from building up on the outside of the duct and seeping into the insulation. Just make sure it's properly sealed and insulated!
Yeah, the duct usually comes with its own insulation, so you should be good on that front. Just focus on insulating the duct properly, and you won't have to worry about it affecting the ceiling insulation.
