I just got the M12 Fuel 12V 1/2" Cordless Stubby Impact Wrench, but I don't have any High Output (HO) batteries. I only have the 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah batteries. Since I'll only be using it at home for changing lug nuts—not for heavy jobs—will the 2.0Ah battery suffice, or do I really need to invest in the 5.0Ah HO battery? I read that the HO is necessary to reach maximum torque at 550 lb/ft, but the lug nuts on my car are only about 80 lb. I only have a sedan and an SUV. Thanks for your help!

It's true that using 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah batteries on high-powered tools can wear them out quicker. But don't feel pressured to buy the 5.0Ah High Output battery right away. The XC 4.0Ah battery is a solid all-rounder—it'll handle the impact wrench quite well and will probably meet your needs for home use. Plus, it has a larger footprint which can help with standing up tools. The 2.5Ah High Output battery offers similar peak power to the XC 4.0Ah, but it doesn't last as long, so for an impact, it might not be the best option.
So, I found that the tool barely runs with the 1.5Ah battery. The 2.0Ah will do the trick for changing lug nuts, but it's definitely holding you back. If you're curious about how different batteries perform, check out this torque test video I found. They did a comparison that starts around the 10-minute mark.
I've used my stubby with a standard 5.0Ah battery, and it worked perfectly. You could try the 2.0Ah first, but I think it will do fine for the occasional use you mentioned.
Wait, there's a 5.0Ah battery that isn’t High Output? I've never heard of that!
If you want the best performance, though, the 5.0Ah High Output battery will give you the best results.

Definitely give that video a watch, it's really helpful! Plus, the buying recommendations in the description are worth checking out.
