I've been exploring companion planting and keep coming across mixed messages about marigolds. Some sources say they repel pests, while others claim they actually attract them, and then there are those that say they don't really change anything at all. I'm curious about your experiences with planting marigolds alongside other plants in your garden. How effective have they been for you?

Marigolds are great for deterring some pests, especially aphids and certain flies. They tend to attract beneficial insects that prey on these bad guys. I love planting them in early spring; they really add color to the garden from spring all the way into fall!
I’m planting them for the first time this year. I've had enough of those awful aphids too!
