Do Split Unit ACs Let in Outside Noise?

I'm thinking about installing split unit air conditioners in both bedrooms of my house. I know this will involve creating a small hole—about two inches in diameter—for the pipes to pass through, and that it needs to be insulated. My concern is that I live close to a road, where I can hear some traffic noise with the windows closed. Will these AC units let in more outside noise through that hole compared to just having the solid brick wall there?

You should barely notice any difference. Just make sure everything is well insulated and sealed. The setup should be quite similar to having your solid wall.

Honestly, the noise coming in from that hole shouldn't be any worse than what you already hear through your windows. Plus, the pipes are pretty narrow, so not much sound will get through.

It really shouldn't be a big deal. The hole won't be too large, and as long as it's sealed properly, you shouldn't notice extra noise coming in.
