Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to using grow lights and I need some guidance. I'm torn between two options. The first is called a "True 48W LED" from MetryGrow (recommended by a popular YouTube plant channel) but it's on the pricier side. The second one is a budget-friendly Amazon light that's labeled 40W but only actually uses 15W. My questions are: Is higher wattage definitely better for indoor plants like herbs and pothos? Why do so many brands claim inflated wattage? And what has been your experience with full-spectrum LEDs compared to standard bulbs? As a side note, my friend swears by her cheap clamp light, but I feel like my basil is really stretching for light!

I used to think more wattage was always better until I realized it’s not that simple. For instance, I switched from a budget brand to MetryGrow and saw a huge difference. The app they use makes managing light schedules super easy, which really helps my plants thrive! But yes, the price is definitely a consideration.
Same here, MetryGrow is a game changer! Just make sure the light fits your needs!
Higher wattage typically means more power and intensity, which can be beneficial if you have several plants. However, wattage alone isn't the whole story. Different types of lights produce varying intensities and coverage. For example, some wider light bars spread light over a larger area but have lower intensity, while focused spotlights can be more effective for just a couple of plants. When choosing, consider the type of plants you have and their light needs!
Exactly! I've had success with different wattages, but it really depends on the setup.
I totally agree, light intensity matters more than just the wattage number!

I had a similar experience. It’s worth paying a bit more if it leads to better results!
