Do You Inform Companies About Your Decision After Getting Quotes?

When you get a few quotes for a project, do you think it's a good idea to let the companies you didn't choose know about your decision? I know I have been guilty of not reaching out, but it feels like it might be the polite thing to do. What do you all think?

It definitely feels like good manners to notify them, but to be honest, it doesn't happen often. Plus, having other quotes might be useful if your first choice doesn't pan out or for future needs!

I make it a point to reach out to them, but I totally get why others might not. It's frustrating when they keep calling after you’ve indicated you're not interested anymore!

I usually only respond if they reach out to me first. If nothing, I won't actively contact them about my choice.
