I've come across a really interesting app where you can snap a picture of your plant, and it identifies the type and gives care instructions. I'm curious if anyone here has used similar apps and what their experiences have been. Are they actually helpful, or do you think it's better to learn about plants through experience?

I prefer to learn about each plant individually. Like, when I got a fern, I dived deep into understanding how to care for it before moving on to the next plant. The problem usually arises when we get too excited and buy a bunch without knowing their care needs. Plus, your home environment plays a big role in how well your plants do. If you can learn about them gradually, plant care becomes second nature.

I've found that while plant identification apps can be fun, they often struggle with nuances. Like, if you have an alocasia that's looking a bit off, the app might misidentify it. Plus, the care guides tend to be generic. I've learned the most through trial and error—really observing my plants has helped me know what they need over time. The best teacher is experience!

Totally get that! I've been living in a humid area, so my plant care has evolved a lot based on what works best here. It's definitely a learning curve.
