Hey everyone! I recently joined a Maker Space since I don't have a home workshop, and I've been working on some projects after work a few times a week. The last time I did a glue-up, I ended up with Tightbond on my knees, which took forever to clean. Plus, I'm finding sawdust all over my regular clothes. I'm considering starting to wear an apron, but I've had trouble finding one long enough to cover my knees where the glue tends to land. How do you all manage to keep your clothes clean while working? Any tips on aprons or alternatives?

I've gone through quite a few aprons and settled on a Meyer's one from Amazon that I really like. It's lightweight and has good pockets—so I can keep my essentials handy. Just a tip, I avoid wearing it while doing messy glue-ups; for that, I typically use a set of coveralls. It really depends on what you’re doing in the shop!
I usually wear a welding apron since I used to be into metalwork before getting into woodworking. It fits snugly against me and keeps my clothes tight, so I don't have to worry about snagging on power tools. If you wear your apron properly, it should help keep your clothes cleaner—just watch out for the sawdust in your pockets!
Totally agree! I've worn my apron while woodworking, and it helps keep everything secure. My apron has a clasp at the back so there are no loose straps. Just be prepared for sawdust everywhere, especially in the pockets!
I think wearing an apron is a great idea, especially to avoid those glue knees! But I'd recommend practicing with just the right amount of glue—too much can lead to a mess. A little squeeze-out is fine as long as it doesn't run. If you do want something custom-made, they can be a bit bulky but worth it for the coverage. One I like for its length is from Hudson—definitely check it out!
I've had my fair share of glue on my knees, too! It happens when I'm working on the floor, but now I’m more careful about wiping my hands before kneeling.

Same here! I’ve got everything designated as ‘shop clothes’ now. It’s just easier to wear stuff that can get messed up without stress.
