I accidentally dropped my gold earring down the shower drain while rinsing off. Is there any way I can get it back? My bathroom is on the second floor of my house, so I'm not sure what my options are without doing some serious repairs.

Hey, if the earring is hoop-style, you could try using one of those long, barbed hair removal tools from a hardware store. They might just get it out!
It might be tricky! If you’re lucky, the earring could have gotten stuck in the drain trap. Since you’re on the second floor, accessing that trap may require cutting into the ceiling below. Depending on how valuable the earring is, it might be worth the drywall repair. If it’s just gone past the toilet, though, you might be out of luck.
A high-powered shop vac could do the trick if the earring is still nearby. It might be worth a shot to see if you can suck it out if it’s lodged in the trap!
Great idea! I'll give that a try.
Thanks for the tip! I'll consider trying to access it.
