Hey everyone, I'm new to woodworking and just got my first planer, the Dewalt DW733. I've been having trouble where I really have to push the boards into the planer to get them to start cutting. I thought I might be setting the cut depth too deep, so I adjusted it up a bit, but once the blades finally start cutting, I still have to apply a lot of force. Is this normal, or am I missing something in the setup?

Have you checked if the in and outfeed wings are leveled and if you've waxed the deck? This might not be the main issue, but leveling them and keeping the surface slick can really make a difference in how smoothly the wood feeds through.
It sounds like you might be having an issue with the front roller not pulling the board in correctly. Make sure to check if the rollers are spinning when you feed the wood through—this can give you a clue if something's off. Just be careful and don't stick your hands in there while it's on!
