I'm looking to make the switch from gas-powered outdoor tools to battery-operated ones. I need a trimmer, blower, snow blower, and lawn mower, but I'm torn between the Ego and Greenworks brands. I noticed Greenworks has an 80v lineup available at Costco with an impressive 8-year battery warranty. However, from my research, it seems that Ego products are generally regarded as superior, even though they only come with a 3-year battery warranty. I've also looked into Ryobi, which has some outdoor products in their 40v ecosystem. Given my small yard and a double-wide driveway, which brand would you recommend overall? Any thoughts or personal experiences are greatly appreciated! By the way, I'm located in Canada. Thanks in advance!

I've had the Ego trimmer for a year now, and it's honestly the best weed wacker I've ever used, gas or electric. It has tons of power, and I love not having to deal with fumes anymore. I can't comment on Greenworks directly since I haven't used them, but I'm all in with Ego for gardening stuff!
I've been deep into the Ego ecosystem for my yard tools, and I wouldn't go back to gas. My Ego mower, snow blower, and leaf blower have been performing flawlessly for nearly 5 years, with battery life still strong. I did have a minor warranty issue with my mower, where the wiring frayed from folding the handles too much. The repair guys mentioned that Greenworks tools often come in for repairs and are tougher to fix, so that swayed my opinion a bit. I'd say Ego is definitely the way to go if you're looking for reliability!
That's helpful to know! I've been hesitant about Greenworks just based on what I’ve read, but good to hear your experience with Ego has been solid.
