Feeling Anxious About Inhaling Plywood Dust – Am I in Danger?

Hey everyone, I recently did some woodworking and ended up drilling several holes in plywood without a mask, all while working in my bedroom. Now I can't shake this worry about whether I'm at risk for serious health issues like lung cancer. I could smell something while I was working, and I'm hoping someone can reassure me about the risks. Should I be concerned, and what steps can I take moving forward to stay safe? Thanks so much for any help!

You're all good! Lots of folks have done way more woodworking than just what you've done and they’re doing fine. Just don’t make a habit of it—wear a mask in the future. Trust me, you’ll be alright with just a little dust exposure, but think about improving your setup for safety!

You're probably okay! One short exposure like that isn't likely to cause major issues. Just keep in mind that repeated exposure can be harmful. Next time, definitely wear a mask—better safe than sorry! If you feel unwell or really anxious, consulting a doctor is a good move.

While one or two moments of exposure aren't going to ruin you, it's important to be cautious. I've had my fair share of run-ins with sawdust, even causing some bronchitis in the past. Just invest in good filtration—something like a box fan with furnace filters can help keep the air cleaner in your workspace. It’s a cheap and effective solution!
