Framing Nailer Issues After Just 3 Years?

I've been using a Milwaukee 30° framing nailer for about three years, mostly for building an addition and doing some handyman projects. Recently, it started having issues where it wouldn't shoot nails fully. I usually have good luck recharging my brad nailer since it has an accessible Schrader valve, but I've tried everything with the framing nailer and can't manage to get the air chamber pressure back up with the adapter I bought. I've seen online that maintenance costs around $89, but when I called customer service, they mentioned that repairs would be approximately $285. This is really frustrating for something that's only three years old. I love Milwaukee tools, but I'm disappointed with this product's durability. Has anyone else encountered similar issues with repairs?

If it’s only been three years, why not just check if it’s still under warranty? It seems like it should be covered!

I actually called about the warranty, but it's only for three years, and I'm just a bit over that limit.

Totally get it, I sometimes forget that some tools only have a short warranty period.

Honestly, I’m confused too! I didn’t realize a battery-powered nailer would need an air chamber recharge. I thought those were supposed to be more self-sufficient. Glad you found the info about MILWAUKEE's specs though; it’s interesting how they use a nitrogen spring mechanism!

Yep, it's actually a battery-powered nailer, but with an air chamber that's likely leaking. I’m surprised it’s giving you trouble so soon.
