Hey everyone! My wife and I decided to refinish our kitchen cabinets and opted for a budget-friendly option. We found a husband-and-wife team who started their own business about a year ago, and they had good reviews. They charged us $100 per cabinet, totaling around $2200.
However, I'm really unhappy with the work so far. They've been pretty sloppy—there's paint on our walls, the oven, and even drips on our hardwood dining room floor. Plus, some areas on the cabinets were missed because they didn't cover everything properly with painters tape.
The job isn't complete yet since they're coming back for touch-ups, but I'm worried about the damage to our walls. I need to know how to communicate my dissatisfaction to them without causing issues. Should I make a list of things to fix before paying them? I don't want to breach any agreements. What's the best way to handle this?

From the photos, it looks like most of the issues are fixable. Don’t worry, you’re not being too picky! It's reasonable to expect they won't mess up your walls when doing cabinet work. Maybe put painters tape on the problem areas and ask them to touch everything up before you settle the final bill.
Definitely hold off on paying them until you're satisfied! I’d suggest making a list of the specific issues you’ve seen, along with photos for your records. Then let them know what needs fixing before you hand over the final payment.

Yeah, I totally agree! You should definitely feel comfortable asking them to fix those things. It's your home after all.
