Frustrated with My Milwaukee M18 Mower—Is This Normal?

I recently bought the Milwaukee M18 Fuel mower after a lot of consideration, especially since it cost around $1,000. I was expecting a great experience based on all the positive reviews. However, I've faced some major issues. The mower only works for about 20 minutes on a full charge, struggles to start (I cleaned out the blades yet still need to attempt starting multiple times), and the batteries were already opened when I received the box. When I contacted Milwaukee's customer service, they told me I'd need to send it in for repairs, leaving me without a mower for an indefinite time, and I've only had it for two days. Is this the level of customer service and quality that everyone praises? Am I just unlucky, or is there a bigger issue at play here?

I know it’s frustrating, but consider how much you were trying to cut. Wet grass can drain batteries fast, plus I’ve seen people get used batteries swapped in at stores. Could be that someone returned a damaged product without checking first.

Good point! Just curious, how long are your batteries lasting? Mine usually run around 45 minutes with no issues.

Mine seem to last way longer now that I switched to a high lift blade. Could definitely make a difference.

Sounds like you might’ve gotten a defective unit or even a tampered one. If the batteries were opened, they could have been swapped. It’s pretty unusual for a new mower to have such problems right away. Definitely take it back and get a new one if you can.
